Title: Protectors of Dharma
Medium: Acrylic
Size: 29.5 inch x 35.5 inch each(1 set of 3 paintings)
Description:We Bhutanese believe in deities that protect us, our land and our religion. We have festivals where monk dress up portraying deities and dance to remind us of these powerful beings still protecting us. Its normal in our wall paintings for our deities to be portrayed in their scariest forms, which is seen in our wall painting all over the country. But most Bhutanese will find this piece unusual and even disagreeable but i wanted to portray our deities which are represented by the masked people in a modern context, with guns which where a symbol of winning war during the old historical times. A symbol not to harm others but protect us.
