Description: Bhutan as a Buddhist country has a very visual and colourful religion with wall paintings, murals and religious symbols all around us. But we tend
to misinterpret spirituality based on how things look. This work, titled “Spiritual Being”, is an attempt to break the norms of our society. Monks are a
symbol of “spiritual beings” in our country, but we need to look beyond only the visual, if we really want to understand the true nature of being spiritual.
I wanted to protray monks with “gang” signs and gestures to show it might be possible to still be spiritual even if there is aggression within you.
